Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to be an entrepreneur, and run my own show. So I studied business in college graduating in the late 90’s with a Business Marketing degree. I spent the first 10 years of my career working for large manufacturing companies in marketing, and product development. I enjoyed my job, but in 2009 along came the most adorable little girl who I couldn't part with for a minute so I quit my corporate job to be a stay at home mom. Now I had a bit of free time on my hands to pursue my entrepreneurial dream. I had already invested in a sewing machine to make things for my home, and baby things for my little girl, so I started to figure out how I could earn some money from my sewing hobby. Friends offered to pay me to make them pillows, and cushions and thus began my journey into a custom sewing business.

My sewing business has pivoted many times over the years, but that’s also the great thing about having the skill of sewing, you can make just about anything you can dream of. Some of my custom client work has included sewing cushion covers for boats, and furniture, wedding dress alterations, dance costume alterations, sand bag making for underwater research, and re-upholstering vintage truck seats. When I started my Etsy shop, I was into making baby clothes, so I handmade personalized bodysuits, baby bows, and skirts. Then during the pandemic I pivoted to sewing face masks. In 2023 I started selling fabric (my favorite thing about sewing) and designing sewing patterns.

Sewing is the gift that keeps on giving. :) I would love to help you get started sewing, even if your dream isn’t to run your own business with sewing, you certainly can, but it will bring you so much enjoyment.
